What a lovely September day! No hurricanes on the forecast, and it really felt like the first day of fall, the Florida version of fall, at least.
And what a lovely couple! Erica and Matt were filled with joy and had such a fun and playful energy. Their Nocatee wedding day was gorgeous, emotionally moving and a joy to be there to photograph.
Nocatee remains one of our favorite venues. It’s gorgeous in every direction and super compact, so everything is easy to get to.
We always love to photograph the giant palm trees and were blessed this time with a stunning pink and purple sunset, which made for some great portraits we snuck out to capture just before toasts.
The toasts were wonderful and love from all of Erica and Matt’s friends and family was so apparent and impossible not feel throughout the day.
Erica and Matt took part in a couple of cool traditions. They recreated a photo from Erica’s grandparent’s wedding, of them looking through the back of the car the left in. And they also buried bourbon long in advance of the wedding for good luck and dug it up for a wedding toast with just the two of them after the ceremony.
Speaking of bourbon, the groom’s cake was a functioning bourbon tap!
Thank you Erica and Matt for letting us be a part of your day. You two were a joy to photograph and I hope you love your photos!
