Anna and Mike’s Marywood Center wedding was an absolute joy to witness and a pleasure to photograph.
It was beyond evident who much they loved each other and what a supportive and loving family and group of friends they have.
With a tropical storm heading in from the gulf, the forecast all week threatened a day full of rain. Luckily, it only rained in spurts, giving us plenty of time to take advantage of the gorgeous grounds at Marywood Retreat Center.
A 5-minute downpour almost forced the ceremony inside, but with a little patience and a little luck, the sun returned just in time for a beautiful outdoor ceremony.
Marywood Center is a newly renovated venue and is quickly becoming one of our favorites. It’s secluded, convenient, right on the water and surrounded by beautiful trees. The renovated reception area is a beautiful, as well. We can’t wait to come back there for another wedding.
As photographers, we get to know the bride and groom through meetings, emails and engagement shoots, but it usually isn’t until the toasts that their personalities are truly illuminated for us by the people who love them.
The groom’s brother was the best man and the bride’s sister was the maid of honor. Both of them gave wonderful, touching toasts.
Thanks to the Bread & Butter Band, the reception was lively, fun and filled with dancing. We’ve worked with them many times, and every wedding they play, turns into a party.
Anna and Mike danced the night away with friends and family and ended the night with a sparkler sendoff and golf cart getaway.
A big thank you to Anna and Mike for picking us to be a part of their amazing day. We hope you love all the photos as much as we do!
